Northern Ireland Business & Innovation Showcase

The Northern Ireland Business and Innovation Showcase was held at London’s QEII Exhibition Centre on the 15 September 2021.

The event, a key feature of the NIO’s Centenary programme, offered dozens of Northern Ireland companies an unparalleled opportunity to network and promote their products, services and expertise to business and industry leaders, investors, political figures and government representatives from the UK and abroad.

Secretary of State Brandon Lewis said: 

“I am proud of the fantastic opportunities which the Showcase will offer to Northern Ireland firms, who will soon see their quality products, amazing innovation and unrivalled expertise feature in the London spotlight. 

“This great event not only creates an opportunity to highlight Northern Ireland’s role as a key contributor to the UK economy, but will also ensure long-lasting benefits by stimulating increased trade and investment, delivering on the UK Government’s commitment to build back better.

“As a highlight of the Northern Ireland Office’s Centenary programme, the Showcase will reflect the talent, dedication and brilliance of Northern Ireland businesses, helping to strengthen the economy and ensure a positive future.”

In total, 28 Northern Irish organisations participated in the business showcase exhibition, which featured key sectors of Northern Ireland’s economy, including financial services, fintech, health and life sciences, ICT, advanced manufacturing and cyber security. Northern Ireland’s two universities, Queen’s University Belfast and Ulster University, also took part. In addition, Tourism NI hosted an area of the exhibition hall that showcased Northern Ireland’s stunning locations, hotels and tourist attractions.

A further 12 startups and innovative companies highlighted their services on the Showcase’s Innovation Platform, demonstrating that Northern Ireland is leading the way with innovation and is a great place to invest, partner and do business.

The Showcase event also featured keynote speakers and panel sessions on Cyber security, Innovation in Northern Ireland, Creative industries, Financial services, Foreign Direct investment and Women in business in Northern Ireland.
