Portrait of Northern Ireland
Neither an Elegy Nor a Manifesto
Exploring Northern Ireland’s rich and diverse visual arts legacy from the 1920s until the present day, this major exhibition features over 100 artists who have changed the way we see ourselves and the landscape around us. It features artwork from key collections and artists who have emerged from Northern Ireland and whose work responds to the experiences, both particular and universal, of the people who have lived here. From Paul Henry and William Scott to Turner Prize nominees, the exhibition also showcases the work of recent graduates from Belfast School of Art.
Curated by Shan McAnena, the Portrait of Northern Ireland Exhibition is a collaboration between The Northern Ireland Office, the Government Art Collection, Arts Council NI, leading galleries and collectors as part of the wider cultural programme of the Northern Ireland Centenary.
The exhibition will open at the Golden Thread Gallery, Belfast 9 October to 3 November and The Guildhall Gallery, London 6 - 18 December 2021.
Further Details to be announced in the coming weeks.
